Very good soup. Turkey dinner was better than average. Soup was vegetable and was tasty as well. Clean but a tad dated. Lots of people in there. Excellent service. My only issue is that the hostess/owner's wife propped open the back door by the bathrooms. Huge health code violation. Rodents, mosquitoes, and bugs etc love open doors. Otherwise food was good, but makes me question what other code violations are happening. :(

WOW! Come in the place, sit down, and the table is spoiled. The menu's are spoiled. The plates are spoiled. The glasses are spoiled. Silverware? Spoiled. Waitress? Spoiled. Clientele? Spoiled. Aluminum foil? Foiled.

Cheeseburger club is a must have. Atmosphere is pretty standard for a diner. The friendly staff any time of day really gives this place the edge over others.

Consistently satisfying and priced appropriately for being a diner. We go quite often, and are never disappointed. Don't go there looking for restaurant quality, but if you want comfort food, it's good for that!

Nothing special going on here, as far as I can tell. Had breakfast one Sunday with my wife and it was decent, diner food. The staff was friendly enough I suppose and it was moderately clean. It was really everything you would expect from a diner. I would go back since I live right down the street but don't go too far out of the way for this one.

Don't be distracted by the appearance. This is a good diner with decent prices and quality service.

My hubby and I come here often. Not much atmosphere (formerly a Burger King) but good food, good prices, friendly waitstaff, family-owned. I highly recommend the Sunday breakfasts with delectable blueberry pancakes and yummy Belgian waffles.

Pretty good diner! Nothing fancy but it's very clean and the food is good. Service is decent and it's easy access to I95.

Good diner food! I always get a spinach omelette and I'm never disappointed. The waitresses are almost always pleasant and the food normally comes out within a timely manner. I wish this called for more then average but this is only an average place. This is the standard, but surely not under average.

Starlight Diner has the absolutely best breakfast I ever had. I'm glad it's within walking distance to where I live.

Such a shame!! For year, this place was our go-to place for a yummy, quick, simple meal. Unfortunately, recent changes have really taken the place to a new-low. A few months ago the drop off was noticed. For instance, I ordered a piece of chocolate cake to finish off an "ok" meal (husband's dinner wasn't prepared correctly). The cake was clearly old- the entire side of it was hard. When I told the waitress the problem, she showed it to the manager who effectively told me there was nothing wrong with it. I told him to eat it but I'd not be paying for it- regardless of whether they'd take it off the bill (which the waitress did eventually). Hoping this was a one-off, we've returned several times since then and each time either the food isn't good, or the prices are inconsistent. Yesterday sealed the deal when we wound up being charged $4.50 for A SINGLE blueberry PANCAKE! (yes only 1!) ($3.25 for a single pancake is insane to start off with but then hit with an extra $1.25 for about 12 blueberries.) When I mentioned this to the person at the register, I got no response or acknowledgement of the issue at all. So, not only is the product inferior, the prices higher, but the management is choosing to do nothing to rectify issues with their (formerly) loyal clientele. There are other restaurants just down the street that will now get our business. Three strikes and your out Stargate. We will not be back.

Used to be a great place, until the recent rennovations. Food was reliably good to very good, service was friendly, prices were reasonable and portions were fairly generous. The past few months have seen some changes, though, after some fix-ups and improvements in the place, along with a new menu that's trying - and failing - to camoflage a basic hole-in-the-wall diner as if it were a real restaurant. They're trying to be a "real restaurant" instead of a neighborhood diner, and they're making mistakes. No doubt the rennovations were costly : new lighting, replacing the water-stained ceiling panels, new tile work, maybe a couple other less visible improvements. Some crackpot accountant must have told the owners to recover the costs by raising prices, reducing portions and skimping on service. And boy, did they fall for THAT bad advice. Prices are much higher with the "new" menu, now including way overpriced appetizers. The menu expanded a little, but it's all still basic diner food, and not substantially better (or worse) quality than it's been for years ... just 15%-20% more expensive than the old menu. Is a 10-inch hoagie that rates a 6 or 7 out of 10 worth $8 plus tip when you can get a bigger & better hoagie at the local deli or corner pizza shop for a similar price (or less) ? How good does a $7+ cheesburger have to be when you can get as good a sandwich at Mickey D's for almost half that ? Portion sizes are also down : smaller servings of veggies, about half the fries you used to get with many meals, and noticably more ice & less beverage. Soup's served in smaller bowls and the dessert portions are now thin enough to read a newspaper through. Service isn't what it used to be, either. Friendly, efficient wait staff has had more serious turnover than usual. Apparently, the hiring standards have dropped way down - no doubt along with the pay, I'd bet. If you're desperately hungry and don't mind overpriced, only-slightly-better than mediocre food and gum-snapping, slow wait staff, the Stargate Diner is worth a try. Otherwise, drive on and you're sure to find someplace better.

We were looking for a place for breakfast yesterday while in the area and came across the Stargate Diner. After quickly reading the reviews, I must admit I was a bit worried but the parking lot was pretty much packed (not bad for a Monday mid-morning!) so I figured how bad could it be!?! Our party of five was seated right away and coffee was served quickly. Once we placed our orders, our food came out within about ten minutes and with the exception of having to ask for the bacon we had ordered and one order of toast being missing, everything was hot and fresh and just as we ordered. I had no complaints about my Western Omelet and my daughter and my mom both enjoyed the Spanish Omelet. My stepdad had the Country Omelet (I think that's what it was called) and my husband had a platter with eggs, home fries, pancakes, sausage and bacon. We had no problems whatsoever with the food - it was right up to par with other diners/breakfast joints. I didn't see any other customers complaining about anything - everyone seemed perfectly content - so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

Very solid Delaware County diner, on par with some of the better diners in the area. It's also one of the few places to eat late in the area (that isn't fast food). This morning was the first time I've been there for breakfast, I usually go after work for late night dining. There was a line at the door to get in, but we were seated in 2 minutes. Waitress service was fast. I got french toast with eggs, my date got the Big Pig sandwich (also an excellent choice). Thank you Steve S. for your review of the french toast, it was some of the best french toast I've ever had. I'm so glad I ordered it. The Big Pig sandwich is a HUGE double portion of pulled pork, covered in bacon and smothered in cheddar cheese, topped with a fresh onion ring. It was enough sandwich for two people.

Nice place to stop and eat. We go just about every Sunday for breakfast. No matter which waitress we get they are always friendly and get our orders right. It is very clean and the customer service is excellent!

Stopped in last night for dinner, first time we have been there, last time too. Server was friendly but food was not good. My husband had the fish, generous portion but lying in oil and cold can string beans. I had grilled chicken also generous portion but with tasteless mashed potatoes that were thick and chunky and the same mushy green beans. Needless to say, we said no to coffee and dessert and paid the bill and left....btw I think prices run a bit higher than some other diners in area with better quality.

I've been here twice and it was like night and day. The first time, service was quick, my breakfast came exactly as I ordered and I went on my way. The next time? OMG. I ordered the exact same thing and the cook could not get my eggs right. I'm very specific about how I like my eggs and after three failed attempts, I said forget it. Eggs over medium well people. No runny whites or yolks and I like my yolk moist! (I know, I'm worse than most Starbucks Divas when it comes to my eggs). Surely am experienced breakfast chef can figure it out. The waitress was kind but slow. She tried but when the hashbrowns weren't crispy, as ordered, it was time to go. Hit or miss on your eggs.

This place doesn't look like much. But being a diner ain't about winning beauty contests. it's about finding a good enough meal at a decent enough price. Check on both accounts. Most importantly, they passed my Diner French Toast Test... with flying colors I might add. Thick, enough egg batter for consistency, sprinkled sugar and cinnamon, perfect mix... check. Also... waitresses at the counter who will chat about current events with you, check. Old guys in a corner arguing politics... check. I've been comparing prices lately on this particular breakfast. The meal of 3 slices of French Toast, 2 eggs, and breakfast meat comes to about $9.50 here. Coffee not included. I've had it from 9 bucks with coffee included to as high as 11 bucks with no coffee in local diners in the past month or two. But the quality here was better than the cheap diner so it's a win.

We LOVED this place and went there faithfully for years. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, mother's day, father's day... Then we went one time and THREE different foods were spoiled! Bad meatballs, sour mashed potatoes and ricotta layer cake with GREEN frosting. Yes, I started eating my cake and saw green just as I was taking a bite. I flipped my slice over and the whole stripe of frosting on one side was covered with mold. The waitress was SO apologetic and we truly felt bad for her. It was the manager who didn't seem to give a darn. He was like, I'll take it off your bill. We weren't as concerned about the $$ as we were that he sat back down at a table and was right back on his laptop, instead of getting the cake out of the case or going to talk to anyone in the kitchen. We didn't return for months due to that horror. But my kids missed going there and they wanted to give it another chance. We tried to play it safe by ordering foods we thought were probably bigger sellers. My daughter got a turkey club with potato salad on the side and the potato salad was spoiled. I ordered only JELLO and that had turned. I don't know how jello goes bad, but this was BAD. We talked to the manager again, and he was like, well I can't give you money off because the potato salad was part of a meal! We weren't looking for money off. We wanted him to CARE. And he obviously didn't. He lost good customers and any good recommendations we used to give out to all we knew. So, we give up. A year ago I would be giving this place 5 stars. Now it gets 1...I would give it less if possible.
